Musical Director
From the first idea to a successful concert — as a musical director (MD), I am regularly responsible for turning visions into reality.
The demands on me vary from project to project: from very concrete ideas that only need to be "translated" to a specific line-up, to spontaneous directions passed on to a band live on stage, to an abstract vision that needs to be conceived, developed and realized — I take on a variety of roles in the creative process. Where desired, I help with setlist selection, putting the band together, pre-production, arranging, technical setup, Ableton operating and much more.
Approach
My experience as a band musician and bandleader helps me to have a clear idea of the sound while it's still on paper, to communicate ideas quickly, and to know what it takes in the end to make a concert successful.
I don't have one fixed approach to a project and can draw on a whole range of approaches — depending on what is needed: from an acoustic show with string arrangements to a fully arranged pop set with backing tracks, timecode and added kicks.
